We are the Renfrewshire Tapestry and we tell the stories of the old county of Renfrewshire in thread and fabric.
We are a community project open to anyone who would like to take part. You can stitch on a panel, make your own teardrop or even just share your story about Renfrewshire.
The project grew out of involvement by local groups with the Great Tapestry of Scotland and a feeling that we wanted to make a tapestry of our own. Andrew Crummy, the artist behind the Great Tapestry of Scotland and many other tapestries, has been involved from the start and has created amazing drawings based on ideas by local people.
The Designs are then transferred on to linen and our stitchers get to work using stranded cotton threads by Coats and Clark, mainly produced in Paisley before the Mills closed and donated by local people.
